When Vision is Just Too Much

Vision is critical.

Vision can also be over-stated.

Especially if vision is outpacing administrative capacity.

Businesses do this all the time.

They want to be the best in the world at coffee or airplane flights or car insurance. New businesses often take off in the general direction of their vision. At first. But many stop taking the path of vision and start taking the path of easy. Or at least the path of less friction.

The path of least resistance is the best way to drift from a vision.

Churches are conspicuously good (bad?) at this.

A grand vision needs a grander system. Accurate metrics. Habitual Rhythm.

When vision out-paces an organization’s administrative capacity, it’s crippled and will stop forward motion..
