Could there be a world without email?

My plan for today was a March 2021 book list.

The day was busier than I expected. We’ll take a stab at the March 2021 reading list tomorrow.

One book on this month’s list is Cal Newport’s “A World Without Email.”

Like pretty much all of Newport’s books, leaders should read this.

“Low friction communication at scale” is killing us. It’s killing our productivity. The “hyper-active hive mind” fragments our attention to the detriment of our actual work. Work we should be doing. The work that changes the community, the culture, and the world.

I’ve just started on this one and I’m already seeing everything that’s wrong with the workflow of every organization I’ve ever worked for.

This book is important. It’s the application of Deep Work. It’s learning to eliminate the disastrous habit of context shifting.

I’m looking forward to the rest of this.
