Step Out of the Whirlpool

The current news cycle is a lot. It flows together with information and opinions and cat memes. It swirls like a whirlpool and grows like a wave. The glut gains momentum and grows daily - sometimes hourly.

If your job is to think, create, lead, or problem solve, this whirlpool is more than problematic. It will keep you from doing your job.

I know people who are receiving reprimands and pink slips because they lack focus and are powerless to overcome the wave of information and the whirlpool of distraction.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

Our distraction filled culture is causing us to drown in a river that’s 3 inches deep.

And it’s unnecessary.

Raise your head. Take a step. Take control. You can walk out of the whirlpool. There is little you can do about anything in the news cycle. But you have control of your head space.

Take command and step out of the whirlpool.

The water's not as deep as you think it is.
