Coffee Shop Conspiracy Theories

I heard an interesting theory in a coffee shop today.

One man started telling another about an ongoing conspiracy theory of the Coronavirus being shipped into the US in a box from China during the Obama administration in 2012.  He knows someone who knows someone who saw the box.

I'm not making this up.

The problem with conspiracy theories:

They’re fun but unprofitable.

They get attention.  Clicks, likes, hates.

But there’s no data in conspiracy theories.

There is also no solution.

Maybe it's best to not waste time on conspiracy theories.

And while it's one thing to discuss possibilities in a coffee shop,  it's best to not share conspiracies online.

Work with data and aim for solutions.
