Daily Blogging is Dumb (and I don't care)

I just read an article about why blogging every day is a bad idea.

It's apparently a "silly strategy" and will destroy reader bonding (what is that?), social proof, and subscriber counts. For all I know, this may be completely true.

But I don't care.

I don't care because none of those things are reasons why I blog every day.

I blog daily because it helps me pay attention to what's around me.
I blog daily because I want to practice in public.
I blog daily because if I don't, I get out of literary shape. Atrophy kicks in and my sentences suck more.

I've grasped the reality that this blog isn't about marketing. It's not about self-promotion or potential book sales (someday). It's not about getting clients.

It's not about social proof or subscriber counts.

This is about making bad art in a public place, hoping to get better. It's about a long obedience in the same direction.
It's about consistency.

It's about lowering my expectations snd trusting that, in this process, good will come.
