Down the Rabbit Hole

The machines are coming.

First, robotics started taking over manufacturing.

A machine can do any repetitive task you or I can do. And the machine can do it faster and more consistently.

Machines make our cars and our clothes.

They also do our banking and customer service.

Today we’re really in the Matrix.

AI is now making our art.

Late last year the first-ever piece of AI-generated art sold at a Sotheby’s auction. Someone laid down $432,000 for it.

A few years ago an AI wrote a book that passed initial screening for a literary competition.

AI voice technology is capable of doing the narrative-voice for audio books.

My posts here are intentionally short. (I want you to have the ability to read through them in less than two minutes.) Given enough data, an AI could write my daily post.

But there’s no need to fear the machines.

It is important to consider the potential implications of every new technology.

Remember that artificial intelligence is not capable of the seed that makes us human.

Compassion, kindness, empathy, and love can not be artificially produced.

Today it is more important than ever to be human.
