What Will You Intentionally Ignore?
Most of the time we ignore things unintentionally.
- Bills.
- A dog barking outside the window.
- A dripping faucet.
- Ambient noise at a coffee shop.
We ignore things all the time.
When you can’t ignore one or more of these things, it’s difficult to get anything done.
Here’s the problem.
There is a time and a place to ignore even the most urgent and important issues in your life.
I’m going to completely ignore my phone when I’m on a date with my wife. Or when I’m watching a movie.
Ignore all notifications (better yet turn them off) when writing a book or creating a spreadsheet.
Ignore negative people pretty much all of the time.
Intentionally ignore.
Make a list of three things that you’re going to ignore every morning, a different three things in the afternoon, and three more things in the evening.
Put that list right next to your to-do list. An ignore list paired with a to-do list will give you superpowers.
When you choose to ignore, you choose to focus.
And focus is compost for productivity.
