Three Things Everyone Must Figure Out

We go through a cycle every time we enter a new situation, relationship, or project.

Start a business, begin networking for the first time, walk into a strange social situation, or meet a new group of friends — the cycle is predictable.

I’ve been through this cycle multiple times in my life. So have you. Global leaders, prime minister, and presidents, along with entrepreneurs, plumbers, and dish-washers. It’s all quite human.

This is typically an unconscious revolution. But if we consciously move through these three things, it’s possible to be intentional about where we land.

A new job. A new position. A new business. Any new social situation. Remember you must figure out these three things.

How should I think?

How should I act?

What are the habits I need to create?

You could reverse "how to think" and "how to act" depending on your propensity. I lean toward strategy and planning. When I enter a new situation I want to know how I should think. More action-oriented folks will want to know how they should act.

The order of thinking and acting isn’t so critical. We need both.

Habits are the tricky part. And the most critical.
