The Issue With Agency

The word “agency” is an interesting one.

Agency can mean a representative organization. A place where writers and musicians, advertisers and real estate agents. A place where people go for representation. Someone who covers for them. Someone who makes decisions on their behalf. Someone who puts the policies and guidelines in place to keep them protected and safe.

Agencies are important for these reasons. Certain professions need them. Others legally require them.

But agencies also look out for the best interests of the organization. The rules are often set up to protect the universal whole and not every individual fits into the universal whole. Sometimes individuals need more than an agency. They need ... agency.

Embrace the philosophical idea of agency.

Whatever covering you may have over your head. You may need to come out from under the protection offered by the organizations and make your own agency.  Do your own thing.

Make your own choices.

Take charge of your own future.

Run with the danger for a while.

Because seldom does a protective organization change the culture and influence the way we think.

Culture change and influence happens when someone takes matters into their own hands and fearlessly operates with agency of their own.
