Drifter, Individualist, Loyalist, Leader

Core values are meant to be clarified - not stuck on a wall never to be considered again. No one makes choices in a vacuum. We choose what we value.

And values should be clear.

The person who fails at clarifying core values drifts. At best.

Personal values must also align with organizational values.

When personal values and organizational values are not in alignment you end up either being an individualist or a loyalist. The individualist may have strong and clear personal values with a little connection to the organization. The loyalist is all about the company but has very little personal influence.

The leader, the person with the most influence, is the person whose core values aligned with the values of her organization. This is the person who gets things done and changes the world. This is the leader.

A leader with influence and not necessarily a title or a position.
