The Power of a Little Every Day
I realize I say this a lot.
A little bit every day is one of the most powerful formulas for pretty much anything in life.
Yesterday I completed the sloppy first draft of a book about the practices of a leader. If I had started that draft in January and tried to write 50,000 words, I would be exhausted. Or it would have been impossible.
No one has time to write thousands of words a day.
But I say everyone has time to write 200 words a day. That’s not much. That’s how many words are in one of these blog posts.
When do you become a writer? When is the moment? Quantify it. Put a number to it.
That’s actually difficult to do. Is a writer someone who hammers out thousands of words in a flash of inspirational genius? Or is 200 words every day enough?
Go to the gym. Work out for three hours. Come home and look in the mirror. You’ll be sore. You will see no change.
Go to the gym for 20 minutes every day. Look in the mirror after a year.
You will see amazing change.
Fit people go to the gym.
Writers write.
Every day.
Do the thing you want to do - a little bit every day - and you will become the thing. After almost 400 daily posts to this blog, I promise this works.
