Lead From Behind ... Your Desk?

They say you can't lead from behind a desk.

And that's true to a point.

But it's also not true. You must be able to lead from behind a desk because leadership begins at your desk.

Put in a solid hour of undistracted, focused and concentrated work on one part of one project. No Facebook. No Twitter. No email. No distractions.

Do it now.

Can you?

Leading people is not possible until you are able to lead yourself. Cultivate your own ability to do four hours of true, deep work before seeking a leadership position.

Because leadership begins with you.
