Sunday Sermonizing: The Transition
Vantage Points
- Child Faith
Simple. Straightforward. Jubilant. - Young Person Faith
Strong. Competitive. Robust. Athletic. - Old Person Faith
Wise. Complex. Layered. Impenetrable.
Each kind of faith sits in a solid place. Perched on a rock with a clear view of the past - and at least a misty outlook of what is to come.
The vantage points are clear.
But, we spend a limited amount of time at the vantage points. We spend the vast majority of life in transition. And it's hard to see while in transition. In fact, sometimes it's impossible to see at all.
Most of our travel time on this planet is spent in transition. I'm pretty sure that's intentional.
It's in the transition that faith is buttressed for the next vantage point.
Embrace transition.
That's how faith matures.
