Someday
Someday I'm going to write a book.
How many people have said that?
I confess I'm one of them.
But we all have our somedays.
Someday I am going to travel. Or write a screenplay. Or develop an app. Or take swing dancing lessons. Or take my kids to Disney. Or try this new thing at work. Make a movie. Learn photography. Get my degree.
Someday.
Someday always comes. But it's often not the someday you hoped it would be. The things we plan get put onto dusty shelves and covered up by the random paperwork of our lives. Bills and obligations and Netflix binges.
But here's the thing.
There will never be a better time to begin. Start taking steps.
Write 100 words today. Make your coffee at home and save $5 a day. After a year that's pretty close to 2 grand. That will get you to some pretty cool places.
Take a photography course online. Start shooting video. Write the script.
Don't keep saying "someday." We only have today.
And today is as good of a day as any to begin.
(PSA - I will be making the first draft of a book, myself — while working in Asia for the month. So I'm holding my own feet to the fire by making this public.)
